Jamaican Oaks:
Thousand Oaks was one of those strains that went unnoticed by many, despite its truly incredible potency and bag appeal. Created originally by Gage Green, other growers like Omuerta, have furthered that work to even greater heights.
However, its terpene profile is FAR less elegant, running to the extremes characterized by one reviewer as, “Obnoxious… Repugnant… Abhorrent… Violently DANK!” Moreover, it is all true! The terps run the gauntlet from high-diesel to burnt rubber with a lingering, sickly sweet nose left in the air. Clearly, this was a terpene challenge that had to be met, all the while preserving the infamous Thousand Oaks obliterating, “Day Wrecker” high. Game on!
We have been working on refining Dying Breeds under-appreciated “Sour Jamaican Lime” for at least four years. Battle-proven for producing quality flowers with some amazing lime terp profiles that wanders to hints of green curry with just ridiculous resin production. It had exactly what this project needed to soften up the offensive “terp assault” brought on by the Thousand Oaks and make the MEGA potency in both lines shine.
This was never going to be a “clean sweep” of the Thousand Oaks near-obscene odiferous nature, but we were successful in defeating the “terp assault” to a larger degree. Instead of smoking a burning inner tube, now the dominant terp ran more to a dank, citrus peel edge with some musky grape thing happening in the background…with maybe a tad of something burning somewhere. (We tried.)
Our real success was that we did succeed in NOT gutting the day wrecker stone in the parents, and believe me, this one is blistering! “Sedative meds” are an understatement for Jamaican Oaks! This is the ultimate heavy-hitter!
Ideal for either indoor or outdoor cultivation, it will perform well in a greenhouse environment as well. Look for a reasonable 8-week run time and generally a no headache growing experience.
